Disaster Designs Moomin Shopper Bag

Moomintroll and the Snork Maiden embrace in a touching scene from Comet in Moominland on this delightful tote bag from Disaster Designs. The gold ring which he returned to her after he bravely rescued her is clearly visible on the Snork Maiden’s ankle and the eyes of the two trolls are closed as they share a moment of love. Around them lush flowers are portrayed in the simple signature style of Tove Jansson’s illustrations, and strange insects and creatures peer from the undergrowth. The image is printed in black and white, on a pink background, in keeping with the feminine nature of the Snork Maiden.

This pretty and practical shopper bag is pink in colour with a white and black illustrated design across the front. The bag has plenty of room for shopping, or airport duty free if you are travelling! The bag is made from canvas and the interior is laminated, making it water resistant and therefore perfect for picnics, pool parties and beach trips. There are two sturdy shoulder straps, made from soft grey suede style faux leather and backed with strong grey webbing. They are attached by two metal rivets, which means they won’t let you down when the bag is full of goodies! The bag has a simple grey back which is printed with the Moomin logo.

This colourful and beautifully designed bag makes it a fitting gift for girls of all ages, from daughters to mothers and granddaughters, as the legacy of Tove Jansson dates from the 1940’s and her books have never been out of print. It is perfect for travel or use at home and would make a lovely birthday or Christmas gift.

Moomin Range
Tove Jannson’s Moomin books have been loved by generations of children since they first appeared. She wrote and illustrated them with humour and detail, and they were made into comic strips and TV cartoons as well as the original series of nine books. There is also a Moomin theme park in Finland. The characters are based on people she knew as a child, redrawn as animals with fantastic names and appearances. Disaster Designs have recreated scenes from the books for this whimsical range of items, which will be loved by Moomin fans, lovers of children’s literature and anyone who enjoys unusual design.
